I wrote my first novel when I was 10 years old.
It had dragons, two dueling queens, rainbows that could teleport you places, and adventure out the wazoo.

It was also only 12 pages, but I was in 5th grade and that was looong for me at the time.
I remember nervously offering to read it to some of my classmates. Many of the characters were based off of them, and I hoped they'd find themselves as cool in my story as they were in real life.

I need not worry. From the moment I began reading, they were hooked. They loved the daring quest, fantastical settings, and, of course, their fictional counterparts. My story was all they talked about for weeks, and they kept begging me for a sequel.

I will never forgot the feeling of pure delight that washed over me. They loved my story! This thing I'd imagined and created.
That was the moment I knew I wanted to become a writer. That was when I realized how powerful and amazing stories could be.

Stories are their own kind of magic. So let's magic-it-up!
